When I was younger, I didn’t have much time for gaming. There was always chores to do, and I also accompanied my dad at the construction sites. The first time I had the chance to play Dota was when I was eight years old – thanks to my older brothers.
At first they were highly sceptical. They restricted my gaming time in various ways; they regularly took away my keyboard, mouse and even the internet connection. They just didn’t believe gaming was a useful endeavour.
When I was studying to become a chef, I spent almost all of my free-time by playing Dota anyways. I felt I was pretty good, so I thought that maybe I should give it a shot. After all, if it didn’t pan out well, I could always do something else.
I think it was when I got invited to join OG. Watching the International made them understand how popular esports had become. These days they don’t miss any of my games, and are very excited about the whole scene.
